Old new guy here!

Hi, my name's Ken, please to meet everyone!! I'm in Pensacola, I acquired an 07 Ram quad cab 3500 a couple months ago. The truck has an EGR/DPF delete, new lift pump, new batteries, fresh fuel filter, an XRT Pro tuner, and a few other new things. It has high mileage (250k) but looked like it was maintained very well, so I pulled the trigger.

Since then, I've driven it about a week. The ECM bricked the day I bought it, luckily, it was under warranty, so the previous owner sent it back for an exchange. A couple weeks later, got it back, put it in, and it ran ok for about 4 days, but had a few codes that won't go away. A P0087 (hi F.P. pressure) and a P1012 (rail pressure too low) and a P268D (cyl 2 data incompatible). Like the first day, it just quit running as if it were out of fuel, and I coasted to a safe place.... it did that twice, and that's why I don't want to drive it till it's right. Luckily I have a beater to use till it's repaired.

Had it in 2 garages, each had it a few weeks. Both said the fuel pressure was at a constant 29k, and they thought the hi pressure fuel pump was bad, wanting about $2k to put a rebuilt one in. I've read enough now, where I'm confident I can do it myself in an afternoon now, but I'm reluctant to throw $1k at it because if it's putting out that kind of pressure, how can it be bad? I put a new FCA on the pump, and a new fuel rail pressure sensor on the rear of the fuel rail, but no change. The previous owner says that it never put out those codes till the new ECM was put in, so the ECM may be the problem. So now, I've been reading the forums and trying to figure out the best way to go. I'm a DAV so my income is very limited, so any advice you guys can offer will be greatly appreciated, and hopefully, at some point, I'll be able to pay it forward!

Welcome to CompD! Although I see you've already been properly welcomed, even if it was welcoming yourself!

Ken has deleted his EGR, he's killing our ozone. Might as well go to the beach and club baby sea lions.

With the name of Ken, are you like a Ken doll? Just a sock budge in your under roo's?

You have any wicked kewl parts to sell?? I want the first crack at the 12v cp3 you have with a bag of parts!
