Stock/marine pistons

What are the differences between the stock and marine pistons? I have seen a few high power guys running marine pistons. Do they hold up to the higher powers better? Are they just made stronger?

Bigger, wider bowls to match wider spray pattern of marine injectors, like 370's. Lower compression ratio, though.
