1988 Suzuki Samurai
Hello, just joined this site and am very interested in learning everything i can do to my Zuk. I am very interested in a Turbo Diesel and will be creating a thread asking for experienced help in finding the right motor, tranny and suspension.
Thanks in advance and i look forward to learning something new.

After wheeling with a few guys in lifted, ton'd, v8'd zuk's, I wouldn't recommend a V8. Those things are so light that a diesel at the front would be way way too heavy. I'd honestly look at something like a quick spooling 4cyl gasser that makes 300hp because even the SBC's in the ones I've seen seemed to be too much weight.
You could always stretch the wheel base and go with wide truck axles, and cram the diesel as far rearward as you can fit it, but that's a lot of work.
Just my opinion!

4.3l does well.
I've seen some yotas with tiny diesels that are alright, but for the weight, a small 4 banger gas motor would be what I'd look for
