Check valves

Are both check valves located where the hp oil enters the oil manifolds on both sides of the motor? Im going to try a new set of them and a borrow a ficm to try and see if it fixes my truck. If not it looks like i have to tear it down and check the standpipes and stuff inside which I hate to do unless its the only fix. Right now my truck is running like crap and I quit driving it but need to get it going again. I dont like throwing parts and money at it but I dont know how to check and see if the check valves are bad or not just that the symptoms sound similar to mine.

There is a test that you can do to check and see if the branch tubes are leaking. I don't recall exactly how its done but do a search or get with someone at ford and ask how they do the test. That can save you a lot of headaches if you find they aren't leaking.
