Aluminum dash

Going to be making an aluminum dash for my OBS puller. What thickness are others going with? I was thinking .125 (1/8") but I see summit and few other online places has some for race cars as thin as .040.
That seems kind of thin to me. But if it'll work it's ALOT cheaper then a sheet of .125 lol.. any suggestions from others??

Run the thinner sheet and rivet aluminum angle stiffeners to the back side in the spots that feel floppy.
