I thought the v10 clusters on the 97 and older were a different pulse count than the V8 Clusters.

You guys are correct after spending some time looking around v-10s do have a different pulse count.. at least on a 96 got a gasser v8 works awsome only the temp gauge is not the same reads hotter. the gasser says 210 where the diesel said 190..

Glad you got it figured out... though the V10 cluster works perfect in my truck. And I think the difference in temps on the guage are minimal. Can't wait to see the finished truck

24V has different electronics, the cluster has a computer in it IIRC.

Im pretty sure you can swap the temp gauge from yours. I did a swap on my truck a few years back and I think the temp gauge is removable. Most all of the parts are IIRC. I swapped my milage so it stayed correct on the truck.

Just looked at my old one. The temp gauge is definitely changeable. Just swap it with yours from your original cluster and you should be good.

I was thinking the guage clusters were the same... and yes, the cluster has some kind of small computer in it, my mileage went from 130K+ to 43K, lol

Everything can be swapped. You can swap yours stuff over and just keep the larger registering tach so all your other stuff stays the same
