08 injection pump how to?

Just got the truck and its my first diesel. See guys all the time driving down the road with tons of black smoke coming out the exhaust. How do I get that? I read somewhere you can just turn the injection pump up? How do I turn up my injection pump to push more fuel so I can get that black smoke. Thanks for the help guys!
