Truckers, lets see your rigs!

I'm not a real trucker but here's some from my work:
I drive the Volvo (we put sides on them to hold more)

We also have a couple hook lift trucks:

I wish I had some pictures of the 6x6 Oshkosh's we have to haul chip vans in the dirt. They're kind of ugly but look mean with some big knobbies up front.

We CAN pull doubles (like B-Trains) but they still limit you to 120k with a permit (steel coils only) and have a heavier empty weight so in OH and KY you can haul less with trains. The lift axles are for MI only, they don't allow any more weight in OH although you can use them if you wish. The bridge laws are stupid.
Which mill do the coils head from/to here in Ohio? Anything out of Protec near Findley? AK? Sharon?

All of the above. AK in Middletown, Zanesville, Coshocton. And bigger processors like Worthington in Monroe, Delta and Columbus. There's a mini mill in Delta called Northstar Bluescope. I've never been to Protec just driven past. There's about 400 processors like Precision Strip, Berwick, Coil Plus, Misa. Coil slitters are like gas stations, they're on ever corner.

How many hp do you have in these big trucks in america, in average i mean?

In sweden it's very common with lift hook trucks as they can be used to do everything.

I would guess most OTR trucks anymore are in the 425 to 450 range for normal trucks that haul no more then 80k. The bigger trucks like out west that haul over 100k or heavy haulers are in the 500hp to 600hp range but with 18 speeds instead of 10 like most trucks.

I see plenty of trucks out here from back east that can have anything over 350-400 hp. I pass them going up a 6% grade pulling 100,000+lbs and I only have a 460 hp N14

The 3 that we have that haul the heavy loads are all PDI tuned C15 Cats and are about 700hp to the tires. :rockwoot: The others that haul the lighter loads are C12-C13's at 430hp. However I would eventually like to have them re-flashed as well. Been told that a tuned small block will embarrass a stock 550. :hehe::st:

Very cool. I'd be looking to go back to the steel/auto if work ever picks up again.

No pics of my current truck, but enjoy:

my truck is a 565hp ISX cummins, all of our rigs are between 475 and 600

yep, all our trucks are 13 or 18 speeds, cant do sh*t with a 10 LOL

I see plenty of trucks out here from back east that can have anything over 350-400 hp. I pass them going up a 6% grade pulling 100,000+lbs and I only have a 460 hp N14

those N14's were one of the best engines ever made, they'll easily go over a million miles without being opened up and they have good power and get good mileage

anywhere from 105,500 in washington to 108,000 and 110,000 in montana. i can only haul 110k (legally) if im bridged out 20 feet behind my lead trailer, i have two scale tickets this last week where i was over 120k gross LOL i only did that because i didnt have to go through any weigh stations

I know 10k is a big difference with lighter loads, but with a load over 100k, do you notice when you +/- 10k?

yeah, you notice ever 1000+/- lbs it seems, even with a high horsepower engine under the hood.

and Chevota84, MORE DETAILS PLEASE! I love those older Pete's I'd love to get my own one of these days
