Fuel Problems Need some input

Ever since the truck sat all winter we cant seem to get enough fuel. Last year it had very black smoke and the EGTs were around 1600 to 1700. This year at the first hook EGT went to over 1900 and stay the the whole pass. It has a P Pump build by Schied and a Fass 200 GPH. We have the p pump check on a bench and Its fine.

Just wondering if anyone has any Ideas?

My first guess would be fuel pump pressure. Or it just can't keep up anymore.

You can have pressure but not enough volume.

Your low on pressure. You need more. You need to be above 60 psi.

For 800cc ppump? Yes, at least-8 at 60psi or more, and dual feeds wouldn't hurt

The pump maxed out is 900cc we have it set at around800. I have the stuff to go to number 8 and thats the project for tonight. Fass said today to run 45 psi and do it by putting a shut off on the return side of there pump. Gonna try that for this weekend. We also put new filters on it this winter, and going to change them just in case.

Keep your pressure at or above 45 psi and your fine.

well we tried to duel feed the pump. was going to use the fitting on the intake side for the return. but can't because the fitting hits the sheet medal intake and the other ports are no drilled. any other ideas? also I was wrong the supply and return lines are number 8. We are now going to number 10 supply to IP and number 12 to the fass pump

Well I'm kinda embarrassed to tell what the problem was but hopefully it will help someone out in the future. We rebuilt the dash this winter and the fuel shut off cable was moved and never adjusted there for shutting the fuel off a little. Thanks for all the help and the good thing is we have bigger supply lines and high pressure. Here is a picture of the dash. Click the image to open in full size.

it happens. a buddy of mine did it, he just forgot to push the cable all the way it. we put a spring on the shutoff arm on the pump so it wouldnt happen again.
