Snap ring compressor cover leaking, suggestions?

The snap ring compressor housing on my hx35 is leaking between the cartridge and housing. The leak is directly between the ears of the snap ring.

I did quite a bit of searching and everything I found said the hx35's are supposed to be machined fit between cover and cartridge no o-ring required.

Any thoughts?

I have used some high temp sealant with good results.

I wouldn't allow it to dry before assembly.

I mean you could allow it to set up a little before you assemble it.
