Alligator H4H #5

Its not big numbers... But I busted a 3 year goal at the event this weekend.... First rotary pumped IDI over 400whp... I did 401/835 on the Auto-Trend dyno with only 4% correction.

Sorry for the crappy phone vid...

Edit: Here is my race against Chris Rosscup... A healthy duramax... I only lost by a few feet...

Only vid I took all weekend was your Rosscup race... Terrible video but your in my phone lol

Pardon my Naivety, but why on earth would 50/50 diesel/methanol be better than 100% diesel?... Last time I checked, volume for volume, diesel had much more energy.... I guess if it has some sort of burn quality, but I dont see it in any obvious way...

Methanol has half the energy of gasoline too but it's still used in racing.

Yeah, but in a gasser, you are limited to a narrow air/fuel ratio range. Stoichiometric for methanol is between 5:1 and 6:1, so for the same amount of air, you are getting more power because the volume of fuel can be increased in the mixture.

If you mix it with Diesel, your fuel volume is still the same, you are just mixing it with liquid that has less energy than diesel, so total energy for the same volume of liquid would be less than straight diesel...

What's this rumour I heard of Baca running 50% methanol and 50% diesel as his fuel????

Reminds me of Banks....the Internet hype around them got so severe that they eventually put a bunch of tape on their nitrous bottles that were labelled "CO2", "Propane", and "Methanol" at one race. It was pretty funny.

Honestly, nitrous and diesel fuel is enough to blow up any engine, or make it run completely clean. Baca's CR was spraying a good amount, I know that.
