Lathe & mill

Any suggestions of a good bridgeport to get your feet wet with milling?

I would eventually like to be able to mill my own parts (cylinder heads etc.)

And what lathe would be the best for making laser cut delivery valves?

Any bridgeport J head will work for you, you can find a re-manufactured one for just over two grand. The tooling is what is expensive! And you will eventually want a DRO which is expensive as well. As for lathes anything decent will be three-five grand.(colchester, clausing, bridgeport, victor) The list goes on.
