Looks like Smoot got hosed. Look at the front of the sled in relation to the post on the chain link fence.

I didn't even know you still had a truck Dan. Thought maybe you left it in MO.

Looks like it made a good hook though.

I noticed that too, but did it START in the same place?
I know some places don't, they just zero the lazer.

Back in the days when they measured via tape measure, they would spend a good bit of time positioning the sled to get it in the same plane each time. Now with a lazer, it can start anywhere and save time. That said, usually the sled is within a foot or two each time, but that seemed like a lot of difference....

The video shows the start as well. The stop point is pretty easy to determine as the camera is perpendicular to the 300 mark.

However open up the video in two windows and take two hooks and pause it at the beginning. Example is look at where the regular cab dodges rear tire is, and then look the black duramaxes rear tire. You can see the dodge clearly "appears" to be further back. Then to confirm that, look at the red tractor in the background, it doesn't appeared to have moved, it indicates a similar thing. Also if you look at the other trucks they appear to have been farther back as well. It appears it was just an issue with the sled, from some of the info I have heard. Be curious how the results truly would have ended up, as after looking at the vids I originally thought that smoots pull was just short changed, but further looking it appears that the black dmax's hook was longer than it really was as well.

Who knows where everyone else would have fallen out, but it clearly looks like he wasn't " beating up some of the best dodges.... " at least one of the dodges appears to have eeked out a win.

Had the engine and transmission sold out of it, kid couldn't come up with the money. It is in some need of some upgrades, the turbo is on its 3rd season, cam needs some more lift and duration, and obviously I need some more rubber!

I had a fueling issue in Hudsonville (no smoke at the end). After they reset the sled, I turned down a 289' pull and lost 5' on the rehook.
