Yeah it’s a red top. I had issues from day one. First noticed my truck not starting if it sat for a couple days. Had no issues prior to switching batteries.

Yellow tops seem to hold up better in my experience.

Where's the battery temp sensor?
I put a set in my 12V in 07 and junked them in 15 after lots of sitting.

Temp sensor is under the drivers side battery. Had my charging stem checked this morning and it’s charging at 14.6v. Battery tested good. Although I am kinda baffled why there is moisture/water coming out of a gel battery. Unless water or moisture got in it somehow sitting outside.

You have water coming OUT of the Optima? I thought they were a sealed battery?

I'm sure they breathe, I just don't know if they are valved or not.
I took the sensor out of the tray and slid it into the V in the plastic on the battery. There was too much of an air gap underneath to suit me.

Put about 50 miles on it and it hasn’t got hot yet. I will just keep an eye on it.

Going to put a couple hundred miles on the trans, change the fluid and filter, change the oil, then post her for sale.

Defective intermediate shaft. Lube holes for overdrive were not drilled to the center oil galley in the shaft. Basically scorched overdrive planetaries, sungear, and annulus gear. Everything was covered and replaced.

I don’t want to sell it but I have some family medical bills that need paid and the extra money would help a lot. I don’t really want to store it another winter, and I don’t have time to race it or go to events. It’s basically a fun daily driver for me. I think someone who has the time and money to put a cage or roll bar in it and actually race it would get more use out of it. I have put 6300 miles on the engine and have been very pleased with truck. If it don’t sell it’s not a big deal. I was going to put a stock engine and trans in it but that costs money and time to do too.

I had the exact problem with mine , that was the only time I have bought optima batteries and the last . Got a few friends that have good luck though.
