Anyone know anything more about this then what CNN has? Never heard of them before.

They’ve been around for a few years. Not sure exactly how many.
Basically, the barriers ended at the finish line. Had a lot of people parked around that end of the track. Mustang fox body lost control close to the end of the track and wiped out and injured several, and killed those two young kids.

PapaDEX posted in Dyno for Dex facebook group a few days ago. He is donating some of the relief fund which are proceeds from the annual gathering to the Chance Jones family.

Those looked to be plastic barriers...wouldn't stop anything even if they were filled with water.

Absolutely tragic. My prayers go out to the families. I couldn't imagine loosing my son.

Ross is a good guy and drag races an Powerstroke.

FDP worked with Lokar to sell the locking, flexible dipsticks for the 48RE and the engine. They're damn nice units.

I think Ross has organized this event for a year or two now.

This is an absolute tragedy. Prayers to all involved.

I'm still dumbfounded as to why spectators were allowed to be past the "barriers" and that they used said "barriers" to begin with.

There shouldn't have been a spectator within 100 yards of that racing surface without concrete barriers.
