Yep, that is the last time I've seen Billy, met him back in Muncie 03'.
I'm going back into my 98' and if I change the pistons I'm going to run more compression, I figure a new owner would like that better.

Cam
My cam has the same amount of lift as yours but duration changes things significantly. for instance my cams duration is 212 intake and 234 exhaust .300 lift and with rocker arm ratio .450 the fly cut required on mine is .060 intake and .080 exhaust. I chose to just take .080 off the tops of my pistons. The cam one step above mine that scheid sells is the biggest cast cam they sell and its the same lift but 234 intake and 254 exhaust. I believe it requires .090 intake and .120 exhaust fly cuts. Did you happen to ask what kind of fly cutting you would need to maintain piston to valve clearance?

Luke, what you are saying goes hand and hand with these flow numbers, after 450 lift there is not much more to gain, so they hang the valve open longer.

I see
Jim i see that from .450 to .550 theres only a 3 cfm gain.
Id like to know the lift and duration of other cams to compare them all. I went with Scheids cam because im a distributor for them for one thing and Brad
Ingram didnt have a problem telling me any of the specs on them such as lift and duration and he helped me in degreeing the cam in. Super nice guy! I went with a new ground cam with a bolt on gear instead of a regrind since one of the lobes went flat on my stocker.

true, but with more lift, you get more area under the curve with a given duration. not sure how square you can go on these lobes? maybe the mushroom lifters are more forgiving

engine
Its starting to come together but the camera phone doesnt do much justice.
Notice the rocker blocks need machining to clear the ARP 625s thats without washers on but for picture purposes only! Ill post more of the build when i find the cable for my camera.
