94 3500 trans cooler lines - Competition Diesel.Com

I noticed a couple weeks ago that my 94 3500 is leaking transmission fluid from just under track bar area. Was wondering if it is ok to eliminate these metal lines and just run rubber hose to and from wherever it's going?. I haven't even inspected to see which line is damaged.

I want to say people replace them with hoses so they don’t have to deal with a potential rust hole occurring. Don’t think it’d be a problem as fluid is being forced through. Most people take the check ball out of it anyways.
