2004 (early) 5.9 engine - Competition Diesel.Com

Early 2004 5.9 engine, was coupled to a 6 speed, have main engine harness and ECM, engine is complete from fan to turbo, does NOT include a flywheel or block plate.
The engine has 170,000 miles and is stone stock, no tuner, still had the stock OEM lift pump.

This engine has a hard miss, also had bubbles in the cooling system, which leads me to believe it has at least a bad head gasket.
I ran it for 30 minutes before it was pulled and the engine fired right off, no excessive cranking, so the injectors are likely okay.
If there is no serious interest in it as-is, I intend to remove the head and fix it, if that's possible, otherwise it'll get parted out.

Asking $2,000 OBO.

A turning fire job doesn't scare me, either.

Yeah, probably shoulda' done it in the first place, but it's such a PITA to keep it all straight, lost bolts and the like, but a few mis-placed bolts beats the alternative.

Well, I didn't have to pull the head off.
Turns out the #2 intake rocker nut backed off and allowed the adjuster to back off, in turn tossing the rocker bridge off the valves.
I put it back to rights, then cranked it to test cranking variance and there was none, unlike when I got it.

I'll fire it off to-morrow, but I really suspect that's all that was wrong.
