Yeah... and if you have trouble you can tell the manufacturer that the guys on the internet said to do it this way.

Hey JB... I'm not trying to be a dick, but call them. It might even say something in the literature provided with the clutch.

I would go empty truck city driving for the first 100 miles. Engage and disengage that thing as often as possible. Then drive it like you stole it.

Generally a street dual disk or regular single disk is 200 miles of stop and go driving to seat it in correctly. Then you can cut her loose and raise some hell!

I don't think Peter get's on here over the weekends if you still want to talk to them calll first thing Monday morning! Leave a message for Peter or Mansil if either is not available to talk to you at that momemnt. I PROMISE YOU you will get a return phone call before the days over. I call them on a regular basis to shoot the breeze, and price stuff for friends. They get SLAMMED all day on the phones.

Just curious, are you sure your not confusing Sintered Iron with Ceramic? I've never heard of slipping a ceramic lined clutch being good for it?!? Ceramic is organic material that is less grabby than Feramic or SI for smoother engagement.

well it is nice and smooth, lighter than stock pedal feel. i am gonna drive it easy till i get the word from Southbend. i always do start out in 2nd gear to get rollin anyways but i like how it doesnt have any shudder at all when taking off. I wont tow anything till its broke in, hopefully he will call me back by monday.

i prolly wont be doing any 3rd gear burnouts ever, but im glad it worked out for you. i dont believe with all the weight of the flatbed and tool boxes this thing would even do a 3rd gear burnout on dry pavment anyway.

yea not saying i recommend it, just that not allowing a break in period didn't seem to affect mine, could be a little different with the smaller plate load...

Just checking I have always been told 200 mi on a DD type truck from SBC. Now on my fresh Sintered Iron waiting to go back in I was told to do a burnout, let it cool completely, repeat, load on trailer go to pull!

Hey all. I'm down in Florida this weekend and enjoying the weather. Break in on a street dd is not super necessary like a single disc. Towing is actually a good break in procedure. Remember the street dual disc are not meant for competition and not designed for slipping the heck out of. They are for holding hp and towing heavy. The new slipper sintered dd's and ddd's? Have fun and hold on. Be back in the office on Monday.

thanks, im just driving it like i always do then(always start off in 2nd, slip it out just enough to make it a smooth take off) thanks for a great clutch im fallin in love with it the thing does not make any noise whatso ever with the clutch in or out and is smooth as silk. Also there is no vibration at all in any gear or speed like i have heard off. the only thing i have noticed is it does take a little longer to shift gears. but i dont race or anything so i dont mind at all.
