Some 01's had the VAC. My dad's is one. Mine and his were built in July 01. His is a 2wd auto. Mine was an electronic. No cruise for me.

I think the wires are present for the VAC.

Now that I put in these bigger DDP sticks, its real easy to get the truck jerking in 3rd gear in the low rpms. Either get stronger ankle muscles, or add some springs to the linkage so it isn't as easy to bounce on.

Running 3 springs total I believe... Thinking of adding more!
 
The difference is that the 01 and 02 manual tranny trucks had the electronic cruise while the trucks with the auto tranny had the mechanical actuator mounted under the battery tray.

That's why some 01/02 trucks have it and some don't, it depends on the style of transmission.
