C30 Lowering springs.

Any recommendations for a builder to make me a set of lowering springs for a 1986 C30 2wd that will support a 12 valve swap?

It was originally a 454.

How low are you wanting to go? I when from spring that where where originally had the 250 I6 to 454 springs with mine and gained about 2-3 inches in ride hight. Granted mine is a 67, but they are the same overall suspension systems.

you can get 2 or 2 1/2 drop springs for a 454. should work fine. We put a cummins in my friends c30 that was 454 and it didn't change the ride height.

I'm looking at the 6/8 drop from switch suspension. 6" front 8" rear

It comes with new coils for the front, i just assumed the 300-500lb weight increase with the 12 valve would overload them or at least turn them in to an 8/8 drop lol

I would personally go air ride if your going that low. You might be able to do it with springs if can get a 2.5 inch drop spindle, but I didn't think anyone made on a 8 lug drop spindle.

Switch Suspension :: Home

Here is the kit I am looking at, it is 3" spindle and 3" coil with a flip kit and notch in the rear.

It says however that big block trucks get an extra 1/2 drop. That tells me that a 12 valve will get significantly more than that or just ride like Sh*t and be bouncy and overloaded.

But I don't really know anything about spring rates or how that works other than watching the front end drop when I lift up a snow plow and how that effects things.
