I'm not exactly sure how I feel about that.... 😁

This is my Job and not my passion, so I guess it's OK.

What do you need, sir?

Last week was a busy week.

The white engine was against our recommendations. It is NOT in the PB. Just a different repair.

Someone mentioned liner projection on a 6NZ earlier. CAT is tossing warranties if the blocks aren't cut after a certain date. We HAVE to cut everything now. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not good at it (over thinking is a problem) but I haven't shut a gasket yet, that I'm aware of, but have had one back in for HG failure.
We are also mandating head bolts on every engine now, across the board, as a dealer policy, not CAT.

Had a B model in with a broken crank last week, 1 year after it dropped valves in a reman head/overhaul. We are starting to see a rise in broken cranks. I'm not sure about cranks VS new bearing installs to know if there is a correlation, but I bet there is. Unless something changed, they killed the part number for the thin one (0.334"?) about 18 months ago, about the time the "cut every block" came down.

I've got a machine shop that I have cut the thick ones down, they come out truer than the cat ones, obviously not neccisary if your cuttin. I just did a 2ws in October with a cracked liner, 500k and the block was still perfect, so I cut it out of the plate to get to .006 portrusion. Makes more sense than hoggin out a perfect block

I agree. We've been tossing out plates that could be milled.

That turbo comes with the 96mm 1.32 hot side and I believe usually 78mm cold side plus the upgraded bearings and a newer compressor outlet. Nothing special as far as I know.

I didn't see a name on the door so I figured you pulled the trigger on a truck.

Nothing wrong with a 386...we had one until we blew up the MXS under the hood...went to a 389 Glider after that.

Knowing what we know now, we should have swapped the motor in the 386.

Truckers, lets see your rigs!

If this 386 had a c-15 or a 60 series, I'd have likely already bought it. However it kills me not having a hood sometimes.
I like these 386's looks wise, and I picked out the visor, and the other crap on this truck year or so ago. However this will be the first for me to drive one. I already hate this multi torque horse chit I know that.
My other big issue is, it's an ultra cab.
