I wish there was a real formula for that, cheaper than buying to find out.

44 000 kg, trap speed 84 km/h at 300 meters. Mine was 78 km/h.

Of course I have watched them. They dont even shift to high range and those A class trucks are not working trucks. Mine is more like B class except 82 mm compressor is too big and also engine is too big, only 16 litres allowed. No wonder you dont see Volvos there.

Went and picked up the acert take off's yesterday. Sitting in a non climate controlled shop in the corner where they received no airflow. Everything started to rust pretty bad. Anything I can clean the compressor side up with? Was just going to take a wire brush and see what I can remove. Or are they too far gone and junk?

I am guessing you are referring to the one on the right of the pic. Just a combination of camera angle and surface rust that transferred off the compressor housing. I don't believe that any are bent.

Ok, personally I would clean a little but wouldn’t worry too much as long as they spin and don’t rub the housing. But according to the internet putting them on your truck will rob 100+ hp and 2mpg and everything on the Internet is true.

Part of the problem was so much rust built up they wouldn't even spin. Getting them cleaned up now and looks like it should be ok.
Unrelated but if I had a cat serial # say 3ZJ04306 how far can a guy turn the screws before things start to melt together? Currently 3 turns. Its in a neighbors truck and he is just wanting a little more than the factory 330 or 350 whatever it was. Were all 3zj square port head?

You can turn the screws as many times as you want when they’re laying in the ash tray.

Everything about his truck is factory. owns a custom harvesting company and depends on it to pull hopper. Wants to be able to drive it in full trucker mode. Foot to the floor sunglasses on. Screws in the ashtray would definitely result in re engineered parts. I haven't layed eyes on it yet. Something about a small turbo and high compression?

It's not looking good for me to be able to get this gt55 together in time. Ordered the exhaust turbine last week and I still haven't received a tracking number.
To get back to me knowing nothing about turbos but want something together for 1 pull. what whould you choose?
1. takeoff factory c16 turbo
2. s480 phatshaft with race cover and 1.32
3. factory ht3 with 32cm.
At this point I am thinking number 3. Mostly because its already bolted on and working. Also because It should put on a good show for the crowd when I give it full fuel at about 200ft and proceed to make extra parts I will have all winter to rebuild.

To add to that list I just ordered a 1.0 housing so I can at leat get this thing mocked up. How bad will that 1.0 choke off the engine if I just run it? or will that just overspeed this 55 and cause me headaches?

How much more work would it be to fit the complete compound acert setup?

Make the steel plate for the atmosphere turbo to bolt to the C16 block. Weld a V band to the HP turbo and order a Cummins/Detroit elbow.

I wish it were that easy. Truck I am in need of a turbo for is the big cam. Bought the acert set cuz it was cheap even though I only needed the gt55. So above list applies to big cam.
Unless you get me hooked up with a sweet tune for the c16? Then I might have to put this acert set on that

I could be completely wrong on this but-
The reason for running the gt55 as a single is the big cam creates a lot of exhaust energy so should spool ok and then you don't have the manifold charger choking the exhaust flow which is the holdback on the acert set over 800hp. At least this is what I've pieced together with doing a bunch of searching?

Has anyone modified the wastegate on the acert set? If so how much are they capable of? Is my thinking correct to run the 55 as a single? or would I be better to run the compounds with a modified gate?
