Fleece Fuel Distribution Block with WIF delete Questions

So, I bought the above mentioned setup, along with the Fleece plug to delete the sensor. I go to rough assemble everything, and the plug won't screw in. I double checked the thread pitch, it was OK.

I think the anodizing on both parts removed the needed clearance on the threads.
I put a little oil on the threads and tightened the plug down. When I did that, I noticed that the chamfer in the fuel block is too small for the o-ring supplied with the plug. So, I went to pull the plug back out....... AAAAAAANNNND. It seized. Hex stripped out of the plug. Damned expensive plug too.

So, I sent an email to Fleece support. No reply in over a week, which is OK given the holiday rush, but I'm curious what the best course of action is at this point.

You can see in the photos the chamfer for the other fittings. Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.Click the image to open in full size.

If you're in a rush and dont wanna buy a plug, usually hammering a slight oversized torx bit works great for the sort of nasty. And i have used large drill bits, and even unibits to do camfers before.

Disclaimer: This is coming from a junk man. And remember a crossed thread stronger then any weld.

Why not use a nice brass plug instead of the flimsy aluminumn?

Could be worse....could have bought an xdp not have enough material for anything to seal, let along a chamfer or counterbore.

I haven't looked for a 14X2mm threaded brass plug yet.
I'm guessing the rarity of the threads might be why they machined their own.

Is there enough room to just drill and tap to the next size in NPT?

Maybe so, but I hate to have to modify a new part. It would be nice to hear back from fleece on the matter since they are brand new parts.

I’m experiencing the same problems except on the factory return ports. Threads were messed up on the first one I purchased. And today I received the replacement distribution block with threads messed up worse than the first one on the opposite factory return port. I have there turbo drain fittings, block drains, coolant bypass, and had there fuel filter delete prior to all of which I had no issue and were of top notch quality. But 2 in a row now is unacceptable.

That's methed up. They sent me a replacement and I returned the original. I *think* I spun all the fittings in by hand, but I can't remember ATM.

They believe it was something to do with how they were being hung to dry after being anodized. They are going to send me another replacement and this time personally inspect and verify there is no damage. I will say for as much of a hassle I’ve had they have been very prompt and helpful in getting things straightened out. And I don’t think I’ve dealt with another company that has been this willing to work with me on correcting an issue.
