i am currently running mahle's in my truck they are topped to lower my comp a lil it is a daily driven truck when its not broken...........
havent had any problems with them yet had the pan off week ago and looked up and every thing below the skirts looked brand new.... but if its cold i dont recomend lowering comp if its not plugged in it takes a whole can of starting fluid, and if it is plugged in it still likes a lil to get it going.... i guess all i can say is oops what can i do they are already in there

Pistons

How much material was removed? I decked mine .080 to clear my cam but with the standard gasket my CR is still 15 to 1

So are you gonna use a thicker gasket, or go back to the machine shop for more cutting??

I think he means he cut the pistons, not the deck.

Understood. I was wondering if his solution will be a thicker gasket, or if some flycutting might be in order.

Pistons

Im running a new block as well as a new head and will run a standard gasket but the pistons have .080 off the tops to clear the cam. So instead of .022 protrusion i have .062 recession.

ok so now i have head gasket problems now so im going to have to pull the head off and i should be able to see whats going on with my mahle's when i get it tore apart its been pulled almost everyweekend all summer long and i have about 6k miles since the total rebuild so i will post what i find out and let everyone know.
im hopeing for it to be good but im a lil scared cuz my exh temps going down the track were getting really high and the insulation on my fire wall set on fire twice the summer so lets hope for the best and like they say on trick my truck. LETS TEAR DOWN

Dont realy know for sure 16:5.1 maybe. I told Cousin Billy what I wanted to build and we both talked with Van Hasiley. And basicly ordered what he suggested. I think I met you at the TS event in 06 at Dennis P shop I was with Cousin Billy.

my pistons are going to have to be fly cut for the cam Im running but. Im wanting a piston that has the larger bowl for say a 370 injector. and is also a strong piston. That wont drop my compression down more than 15:1 because it is a daily driven truck.
