What can be done? A lot of people run one battery. I ran one with a grid heater in Colorado winters with 28 degrees timing and low compression.

Your set up looks good though. We did a setup like yours but built another battery box behind the air filter. Clean way to still run 2 batteries.

I'm also running one battery with the grid. It doesn't like it, but it works

To the OP; clean setup. Though you can probably still run a grid heater if you'd want to. I run a single battery on my 91 (900 CCA's if I'm not mistaken) and it worked all winter. As long as I got one turn out of the motor, it fired up.. Though these CR motors take a couple of spins so it might be a little different.

Got a video of it cranking? What's your amp draw?

Spend time both in northern North Dakota and Canada. See -40 ambient

Grid heaters are actually a good thing, just not on a 6.7 ...if I hadn't already bought my H&S intake horn and boost tube I'd have bought the GDP intake horn and boost tube with the GDP grid heater in between. The factory one starves a few of the cylinders of air.
