lock up not engaging

couple weeks ago had the pan down and saw converter material in there. buddy of mine is a mechanic said it was only a matter of time. well here i am now with no lockup. The whole trans built by hts had a suncoast triple disc converter, it only has 54 thousand miles on it but its from 2007. I know i dont abuse this truck nothing has ever broke and 67 thousand miles on the all terrain tires that I just changed. correct me if I am wrong but shouldnt the converter lasted longer than that? Its not at the strip on the weekends or the sled pulls. dynoed 710 hp.

Call suncoast there customer service is great and IMO if you really dont beat on your truck then it should have lasted longer. see if its still under warranty.

We can definately check it out but I wouldn't necessarily jump straight to the converter to blame, has the VB been on a test/flow bench to make sure it's commanding lockup? FWIW, We just went thru Stuckey's Team Green converter that had the entire 2011 Season on it with more than 30 9sec passes on it and the insides were perfect. Let me know..

Truck is commanding lockup...it just blows right through the converter....and there was SIGNIFICANT converter material in the pan upon servicing.

Hi Ryan...getting your 6.7 figured out??

Les, other than the annoying 3 overhead beep with no codes/messages it's working great, I managed to spit out the dyno numbers in my signature last weekend on Fleece's dyno using my OE base file and tow the race truck there on the same tune.

Cant complain about being able to do that!!!

Gotta love the benefits of EFI...

Daves truck..the one in this thread, has a HTS Valvebody and one of your guys converters...and shes hurt real bad.

Whats your turn around on something like this??

If it's a rush type deal I could probably manage Jerry to get it turn & burned same day, if not on a pallet for shipment the next morning after we get it. Could you possibly send the VB in as well for a function check?

5 years, 700hp and a lifted mega cab on 37s

Im sure some people get more life out of them but that doesnt sound all that bad to me.

thats why I posted, so others would chime in and say hey thats pretty good or no that aint right shoulda lasted longer. I dont know, ironwork is what i do for a living not transmissions. If 55,000 miles of 700 hp is normal for it to go out then I fine with it.

Damn converter guys....actually really lucky it didn't break all the way and wipe out the converter hub and front pump.
