i had a 7" curved stack with no muffler it sounded really good but it was very loud inside the cab. It would drive you crazy.I put a 4x6 tube in the bed put the stack to one side and plan on puttin another one on the other side it's not so loud now...

IMO if you want stacks on your tow rig make sure there above the cab and I would go with a curved style like the Aussie's.
Amen to everything you said.CR's are obnoxious.I have ran aussies, duals and a single.By far the aussies were the quietest set up and the single 7" was hte worst. My friends 24V with dual 6's are nice with a muffler but nothing worked to shut mine up.

There are some slip in baffles made but I don't know how much they would help.
Got any pics of these baffles?Going back to the single 7" after the twins go on.Gonna run a muffler and if its still too loud I was thinking of trying something like that.

you guys are nutz tryin to tow with stacks

no fregin way

towing i want to be able to hear more than just the turbo but if you tow for dayz on end like i do sometimes (and thru the night too) you dont want it too loud. i have showed up at the races with my ears literally ringing. rang for 24 hrs straight. screw that

got sick of the black stuff on the front (passanger side or right side is where the side door on the trailer is and where we pit) so i ran the ex out the drivers side of the truck. swapped out 3 different muffs before finding this one - its perfect. can still hear all the cool noises but can still hear when i get there

good luck w your stacks

I have had the mitre cuts on the truck in the avatar for over 5 years now. Made several 1,500 plus mile trips with it pulling and empty and it doesn't bother me a bit.

what about clearance issues between gooseneck/fiver and stacks or headache racks on shortbed trucks?

Most short beds cant pull a full width square nose trailer due to clearance of the cab. My shortbed has a single 6" miter with full 5" front to stack and its friggin loud pulling 32 footers. Had more resonance than a blown 5.0 mustang and dumps. VERY LOUD for me I put a stainless magna flow under the truck to help but still growls uphill and passing. If I was to do it again I would not put a stack on it.

Yea j was thinking of doing a stack but now j realize j use the bed alot and need all the room I can get. Think I'm just going to dual it I. Front of tires for now. My truck is a d max and most of the guys posting drive dodge rigs be those area lot louder than mine. But they do sound good. Just helped a buddy install 4 inch straight to 5 inch stack on 24 v and it's nice sound but a little loud in cab. I can only imagine hooking up to somethin with it
