Enclosed trailer to Haul Race truck with.

What are you guys running or using? I keep seeing that i have to have the rear ramp door upgraded but never see any places that offer such thing.

I haven't bought mine yet, but I intend to buy one with a standard ramp door and just lay down some sort of reinforcement/ramp on the top of it. Pain in the butt, ya, cheap and simple though.

I have a featherlite ( all aluminum ) enclosed trailer for my 2wd diesel drag truck. I mounted a 8000 pound winch in the front to pull the truck in with. Never had any issues with the trailer or ramp door.

Prolly need to get extra height also. Ive been looking for a used one but all i find is standard height ones.

Ive had a few. The cheap trailers out of Ga are nice for the money and good starter trailers but after a while you will want to upgrade. They just aren't built real heavy. Keep an eye on RJ and there are some really good deals on there sometimes. This is what I upgraded to last spring. Its made by United

I'll try to stop by a friends house and see what his is. He builds street rods, and uses if for that. I've pulled it for him, pulls nice, heavy on the hitch, but ok. I do know the previous owner used it to haul a pulling tractor, and it's rated at 14k.

We currently use a gold rush and it is very good quality and all aluminum. But they come at a cost.

Our trailer we had before this one was one of the cheap trailers. We had more problems with the floor in it over the door. We had to reinforce the floor where our truck rode and it's only a 4600 lbs prostreet truck. They are just cheaply made. Pretty much get what you pay for just like anything else.

Good to know! That is not something I had considered. Makes sense though... I put a loaded 54" snapon box on a snowmobile trailer... once. Good news is that by the time I got home there was little need for all the ratchet straps holding it down. :hehe:

I have a 48' Pace that we bought used. We haul UTVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and occasionally one of my dads cars. Hauls great, but for a diesel truck the floor definitely would need strengthened. I did break the hinges on the rear door and have to get them rewelded, but the guy who had it before us hauled 2 cars all the time so its had its use.
