1975 Winnebago Custom... 48RE transmission... 440 Big Block...
Hello everyone! I have a pretty nice setup going for myself. A 1975 Winnebago Custom, 25', Class A. I am building a 2004 48RE to go behind my 440 using a J.W. Performance Transmission Ultrabell, custom 46RE billet single disc from Precision of New Hampton, Raybestos GPZ Torqkit clutches, custom weighted valvebody by South Run Auto & Diesel, machine work done by Miles Machine Shop, and assembled by Performance Torqueflites of Louisville.
Controller is my problem and I do not expect to figure that out in the intro section. AntEater won't work for the application after making a foolish purchase.
I wanted to use a 48RE to be different and still somewhat practical. Of course I could have used a 4L80E but everyone does that and if I were to do that I might as well lose 1.2L and went with a 6.0L LS. Where's the fun in that?
So, if you have any questions or want to see my YouTube channel, let me know.
I'm going to the far end of different on this build.
Full sequential EFI (Megasquirt pro 3), serpentine kit by Superior design Concepts, and a bunch of other stuff.
Thanks for having me!

Subscribed. Any custom 4spd torqueflite gets my attention. Not sure about the engine option over the LS though.

Thanks man. I'm in the infancy of the project. Now I'm hunting for a Suncoast E618 valve body incase the shifts are too violent with the TV lever being pegged at 75% per Firepunk's instruction.

I'm afraid the shifts will be a little too positive. The whole point of having Steven Abdoo of South Run Auto & Diesel build me a ranging pressure valve body was to keep the stock feel while having the benefits of electronic control. Do you use static TV or ranging?

Static but I can still make it shift pretty soft depending on rpm/line pressure. I know some guys still retained the TV cable, I might go to that someday but I don't mind it the way it is now and it's been like that for 3 years.

Why not just hook up a TV cable to the throttle body instead of leaving it fixed?

I think in the beggining with beta testing we had issues getting it to hit the shift points exactly. Jasonc said he was able to use the TV and I've heard of a few others also.

Someone else said it was possible if you fiddle with the settings so i'm going to invest in the Lokar throttle and B&M TV cable kit.
All else fails, I'll have $500 in a valve body, $1500 in a controller, and $200 in cables. 🤟
Then once I get done kicking my own ass, I'll buy a Suncoast E618.

Coming soon once I pull the face off. And get to pulling the motor out.
I have a Youtube channel that you can subscribe to as I go through this?

I might cummins swap it once I get a modern suspension with airbags fabbed up. A cummins will put me 1000 lbs over my front axle's rated gross weight. Unless I get one of those billet aluminum ones from D&J Precision. (With a sponsorship) 🤣
