Moding a P3000 pump??

i picked up a P3000 pump the other day (for free). i was wondering of i could mod it like a p7100? 13mm barrels and plungers, gov spring, fuel plate, ext...

or should i just scrap that idea, and do it right with a p7100??

bear with me yall, im still very green with all this p pump stuff.

I need the bosch number if you can find one on it...should be a 9 400 XXX XXX or a 0 402 XXX XXX

As for internals, anything pump body is different. They use a different style barrel and plunger, different dv holders, different dv's, etc. If it has an RQV governor then you should be able to do the same gsk and fuel plate mods, but I can't say for sure about the aneroid until I get a number or picture of it

If they can get 850cc out of an A pump I would imagine a P3000 should be able to flow some decent fuel

but at what cost though? there is that saying, "you can build anyting, as long as you have the money." if i can get the same amount of fuel out of a p7100, at half the cost. then its obviously not worth doing.

Also, it is the large pilot and large (30mm) cam correct? Just asking because most of the 2000 and 3000 series pumps use a smaller pilot and 25mm nose cam

Most "built" p pumps are 3000's, bigger camshaft to work with can get some good stuff there, but the 7100's seem to handle the higher RPM's better.

About the onlything that can interchange between the two are DV's and the gov's.

Also before you go doing anything with that pump make sure it's inspected, being a cummins recon pump I would say it has chromed plungers if so you need to get those out of there, they are junk!

Can somebody identify my built 8.3 P-pump.

The govrnor was originally electronic, but it was repaced with automotive. I suspect it is P3000, because it visuallly little bit different than my P7100.

Here is some numbers from pump itself:

Bosch PN 4058316
*2 425 156 015
*Side of pump 24 40 03
*2 56 691 110/3B
*2 415 156 758 511413

Your pump came up a 3300 (3000 series) pump.

The model is a PES6P110A120RS3353, so it is a right-hand rotation cam, 11mm b&p's, in a 3300 series pump.

B&P Part number: 2 418 455 402
DV Part number: 2 418 552 159

You will want to pull a dv holder to be sure, but if the pump has 11mm b&p's then it would only be good as a core to send to a pump shop and have 13's installed.

Thank You

But can you explain what the hell is 7400 series? How much is it different than regular 7100 (I knew it had originally electronic covernor)?
