Thumping noise from air filter

Lloyd,

Thanks again for the injector hookup! Anyway I installed the sticks, F1 springs and studed the head. Everything went seemless. Truck runs awesome. However I have a strange thumping noise from my air filter. I have heard this on other trucks before, But not mine. Temp is solid, fluids are good, and it runs mint.

Any ideas?

i know mine was making a noise like that once and i lashed the valves and it went away.

but then it kept coming and kept getting fixed my lashing the valves every 1,000 miles or so and ended up being a worn cam. not saying you have a worn cam. but maybe check the valves. maybe someone more knowledgable will chime in!

mine did the same thing. I did a compression test and started on the #1cyl. It was way low. I pulled the head and found that the head gasket was blown between the cylnders.
