Crankcase breather code?

I have a 2012 Cummins with EFI by Starlite Diesel. It has 127K on the engine. Last weekend I pulled the valve cover and ran the valves and retorqued the head. While I was in there, I gutted the factory crankcase filter and vented it by running a hose down the side of the block. Now if I lug the engine down below 1200 RPM, or get it above 2600 RPM, I get a code for crankcase filter restriction. Can anyone explain why? I would figure with the filter gutted I shouldn't see anything like that.

The sensor doesn't see the differential pressure that would have been cause by the filter, which is then interpreted as no flow rate or plugged filter.

New at this tuning thing. How do I do that? Does the originator of the tunes need to do this? All I have is a autocal
