P0606

Got an 08 here, runs real bad off idle. Smokes white, overfueled like crazy, coughs, etc. Sets a p0606. I've already cleaned all grounds, new batteries, cleaned ecm contacts. I've capped 2 injectors so far with no change. Has anyone chased this before? 203k on it. If I clear dtcs and start it, it idles decent. As soon as I try to rev it, falls on its face carrying on. Sets the p0606 then.

Well, is it a 5.9 or a 6.7? I wasn’t aware the 5.9 was still available in ‘08, but Alldata lists both. Unfortunately, looks like both point to an internal ECM issue.

It's an 6.7. All data and mitchells list both, so do parts houses but early 07 was last 5.9.

I'm bad about keeping logs of what codes were set when an ECM resolved the issue. I can tell you this: I've replaced almost as many 07-09 6.7 ECM's as I have 98-02, and definitely more 07-09 than 03-07 plus 2010+ ECM's. If I'm fighting a wild issue, I throw one on it, correct the vin and see if it's cured.

After a little more diag, I sent it to a shop in Florida to be tested.
