"The 2.6 right now is 3.0 undercover."

mech2161

I have a secret.
This is the best statement I've heard in a while.
The 2.6 right now is 3.0 undercover.
People need to stop letting NADM force rules down your throat. There isn't any difference in running a bushing than the expensive covers their making you buy. Most trucks have a 3" charger and a fancy cover.

If you want to tone down the power make it a 2.5 bushing or go to a 2.4 bushing. Hell of a lot cheaper than a custom cover and the end result is the same.

LOL :charger:

Why not just require wheel protrusion on the 2.6 class?

I agree. Its not NADM's fault. They are a National pulling organization. If you can't cut it, stay home for brush pulls. But if you plan on going to any national event. Expect the best of the best and don't be surprised if your HTT 66 doesn't get you up front. These type of events seperate the men from the boys.

I think wheel protrusion is just about the same as a stepped cover. I also think it still comes down to who has the "deepest pockets".

Close but definately not the same. Either way you are restricting the air. Honestly I'm sitting here thinking of all the ways to describe things or whatever. But I just remembered its been talked about for 2 years now non stop and I don't care anymore lol

I understand its not the same. There isnt much price difference between the two ways. I know from experience.

Isn't it cheaper to just use a bushing?

Yes I guess it depends on what your looking for. Bushings/stepped covers will keep it easy for the folks who have the 3.0 truck to drop down to 2.8, 2.6, 2.5 or whatever.

Wheel protrusion requires a little more work.

It doesn't matter what you try to do, the guy with the deepest pockets will always have some sort of advantage.

More 2.6 turbo discussion...... *bdh*

Wheel protrusion keeps the guys from bushing down or bolting on a cover for one night.

Limit the exducer. 9? mm

The exducer limit would be nice, but there are several parts to successful rules.

One of them involves teching and enforcing the rules.

Same discussion every year about exducer limits, teching, nothing really ever changes.

Either allow bushings or require wheel protrusion.
Stepped covers are stupid.

You have 3.0 guys are pulling now. 110 exducer is rediculous but there are a lot of them out there. 102 I think should be the limit. Dan your right with enforcing the rules. Doesn't it say no over size chargers bushed down or something like that?

Define oversized chargers, I mean unless you say it is an s300 turbo or something, which may be where it ends up.

Pulling is an expensive sport, stop *****in and spend money if you want to win. No matter what rule you make there will be guys spending insane amounts of money to stay at the top. Rules made to make pulling more affordable is retarded.

Bushing from any larger turbo size down to a 2.6 turbo is PROHIBITED.

This is underlined and in bold print in the 2.6 rules. Maybe I need an refresher in the English language.

Then maybe they just need to enforce wtf they have.

If you don't have a tech crew that actually techs then thry ain't worth the paper they are written on. Agreed on wheel protrusion, stepped covers are stupid.

stepped covers are stupid.

This is my point. There isn't enough difference between a stepped cover and a bushing to spend the money for the cover. Who wins in that game?
