Anyone done nv4500 to g56?

If you've done a nv4500 to g56 in a 24v. Truck already has south bend dual disc with the bigger input. What's gotta be changed? It is 4x4.

Longer driveshafts and a new crossmember. Im sure you will need longer transfer case linkage as well. Whats the reason for going g56 over an nv5600? The g56 transmissions can get outrageously pricey even just doing synchro and bearings. Might want to consider that.

Did the nv4500 to nv6500 in my truck, only needed the longer t-case linkage, longer front drive shaft, and shorter rear shaft.

The NV5600 prices can get outrageous also. Can usually pick up a perfectly good g56 for about 1500 bucks.

I assumed this, n4500 and 5600 have the same size output shafts? what about a g56?

I’ve done it many years ago to my 98 12v. Can’t think of any difference for a 2nd gen 24v. You already have the bigger input - good, but you will need to run a G56 clutch. NV4500 engine adapter works fine. Transfer case shaft was a none issue as it mated up just fine with G56 & so was the transfer case to shift rod..just have to adjust to max length. Factory slave works fine. You will have to shorten the rear drive shaft & lengthen the front drive shaft. I modified the stock transmission support & massaged the floor boards for the taller G56, as well as cut off the cast lifting rings on G56. Shift tower lined right up & reused factory boot. You will need a G56 shifter. Found a plug online that I spliced into the back up light wiring loom & it plugged into the G56. Pretty much it.
