CNG

Would like to see if anyone know any kits or ways to run cng on a Lbz duramax

You want to get hold of Marc Duluca for your CNG. He can answer any questions you would have. I have run one of his kits and they work awesome. Jeff

Would like to build one but were can you get tanks,regulators, and cng nozzle. Have cng that heats our shop so is there a way to fill up without spending a ton for a filling station.

Finding a tank is the most expensive part. You will need a filling station of some sort, be it a public or personal one. Most everything else, you can use OEM Cummins parts, new or used at a reasonable price. I can give you contacts for high and low pressure regulators, shut offs, filling couplers and adjustable pressure switches, should you decide you want to give it a shot.

I'm interested in this also. It would either be on my wife's LMM or the 1st gen I'm putting together. Looks like the best way is a fiberglass tank, but they are expensive.

The are not really a fiberglass but a carbon resin. If you search you can find used ones but keep in mind they have a service life of 15 years and when they expire they can't be used.

See them all the time on OKC Craigslist, most of them and the complete kits come from around Dallas Texas though. The newer tanks don't have a expiration date, I think it depends on the space age materials they are made from.

Doing yourself sounds awesome. What size of tank you run, and what kind of mileage do get from your system? Also can tell more about the home filling station.

I have two tanks with a water volume of 40 gallons total in my 99 3500. I fill up the cng tanks two times per one tank of diesel, with the diesel lasting about 900 miles.

I put together my on system as well. The tanks are the most expensive part of all. The home phill kits are outrageous in price. IIRC they start at around 10G but they will only pump 1GGE of cng per hour. I have two tanks in the bed of my truck that hold about 18GGE of cng. I have 1280 miles on 1 full tank of diesel. On a trip from Columbus Ohio to Houston Texas.

x2 on contacting Marc as Jeff said. A buddy has one of Marcs kits on a 06 LBZ and is averaging 30mpg on diesel, almost 40mpg hwy. A home fueling station is serious $$$ but a lot of people who do that have their own well with free/cheap gas. A word of advice, steer away from a Fuelmaker compressor setup. IIRC they have a service life of 1k hrs and sometimes less. You have to know what your doing for a home fill station, its easy to get by but to do it right takes time and money.
