Yeah, my extreme solution is a new/clean frame. As this is the first road worthy vehicle I bought, I really don't want to sell it. Just a bit of work for a complete frame swap!

It’s a huge undertaking! You could easily find a wrecked truck and just cut the frame where you need. A truck that’s been smashed from the rear would be ideal. I would do a frame swap just for that little bit.

Again, time and money spent on a donor frame, you could just about finish a good patch job.

Well, as much as it pains me to say, I think I'm going to have to throw in the towel on this one. As it sits, the frame is bad, unsafe to drive, brakes should be replaced, needs shocks, body is rather rusty, dash is shot, back doors won't open, also needs u-joints in front axel, and the clutch is on its last legs. Only things still good are engine, nv5600 trans, t-case, and axles. So basically what I'm looking for is how should I go about selling it? I'm not selling it as a driver since the frame is bad, so I think I'm left with parting it out. Considering keeping the engine, although I don't have anything to put it in, and no idea when I could as that's why I'm giving up on it, I don't have the time or money to fix it, and by the time I do I don't imagine there'll be much left to fix. How do I go about pricing everything?

Ok, I'll get ahold of you tomorrow, have to try to think what all extras I have to go with it. Had one person say they thought it'd be worth 7-8k, but I highly doubt that as it sits. Its 2×× mile shy of 200k, trans has about 50k or so less, came from Justin Gearharts old truck, Makin' Bacon.

A big input NV5600 and 241DHD will still fetch ~$3000.

Mark.

Would all manual trucks have that t-case? Truck was originally a 5spd.

That in regards to me being told 7-8k? If so, remember I said I doubt it's worth that. I'm sure if I tried selling it as a driver I could probably get it, but to me it's not a driver. Still drives ok for a 2nd gen, I just don't trust the frame where its rotted at the steering box.

Yeah, mine ran/drove fine. Frame was near perfect, body of course had rust. 240k 5 spd with 3250 dd sb, needed tires, and I got $5k or so.

Ok, not too far off then, thought there's a slight chance of getting a little more than that with the large extra pile of "stuff" that would go with it.

For sure. I didnt feel like deal with the craigslist clowns. Sold it to a friend. He did some maintenance, and put new tires on it, kept for few months then sold to our friends dad. Still see if almost weekly. Which makes me happy that some a$$ hat chit bag kid doesnt own it tearing it up. That truck was my first real adult purchase. Had the truck 13 years, and went all over this side of country in it. Still miss it

That about where I'm at with this one, first adult purchase, had 10-1/2yrs now. That's why I'm going to check with a couple guys I know first, see if they're still interested in it. At least of them would actually fix it up pretty nice, then who knows, if I'm in a good spot financially, I might even be able to buy it back!

Don't think I'm going to keep anything from it. Came the the realization that if I don't have the time/money to fix the truck, I don't have it to do a engine swap either.

Well, as it sits now I'm going to try fixing it now. Was all set on just selling and moving on, but the wife says she's not going to listen to me talk about missing it! And as my daily/beater mini van may be on borrowed time, and I'm broke, it'll be cheaper to fix this and know what I've got, that sell it, and buy another cheapo with unknown underlying issues. Still runs great, been starting and moving trailers or something at least once a month or so. Probably going to try taking it down to my in laws to get it inside to work on, guessing it'll be be at least a solid week or so of nights and weekends to get it done.
