External wastegate questions

Just got this 12v dropped in, and the turbo will not spool. I noticed that when you tap the throttle from under the hood parked, smoke comes out the waste gate discharge. Should it be open at all without any boost? Its a 44mm Godspeed. I know nothing about these and can't find what I need searching. First of all, is the boost line off the turbo hooked to the right port on the gate? Other brands it seems pressure in goes on the bottom. And secondly, whats that tapped hole on the gate with nothing in it? Should it have a plug?

I was wrong, the gate isn't opening while under the hood, I had a leak at the downpipe. So why won't this turbo light? I should probably make another thread. Still want more info on that waste gate though.

I still think that gate is leaking, pull it apart and shim the spring until you know its shut or add another spring if you have any. I fought setting up a jgs gate and finally temporarily ran it with no hood and a short up pipe from the gate so I could see what was happening with it, ended up running dual springs to hold it shut and regulated boost pressure in the top port to control it opening (around 60psi drive pressure)

Is it smoking like hell and no boost, make sure your boost line is hooked up to the AFC, or take the foot off and run it to test. What size turbo is that.

Yeah smoking like hell no boost. I don't have a tach or boost gauge or anything yet. It's a 366/74.91, 7x.012, 190 pump, 21*, 4k gsk, etc. Shooting in the dark I know. I'll check that boost line to AFC.
