turbo's!!

i have 550+ hp in mind and i am looking at 200 hp injectors and i dont know which turbo to go with. it will be my DD until im finished with college (2.5 more years). i was thinking about the super B special but its only recommended to run a max of 45 psi but im not sure if thats enough for the fuel i will have with the 200's. any suggestions?

you will want to go silver bullet or equal. Maybe a 64 model from htt or II or the other option for dd go twins I love mine there is nothing like the sound and feeling of twins when they start to lite and they lite wow great feeling. Down fall your buddies will make you drive all the time and will just shake there heads and laugh when you drive around town and go though traffic or pass on the highway but other then that sweet to say the least

Well I ordered a Super B Special(64/71-14) and it should be here next week. I'm in the same boat as you, it's my DD and I'm still in college. Our trucks are almost identical actually and I plan to upgrade to 200hp injectors pretty soon. I'll let you know what I think about the turbo when I get it on, but I think it's gonna be a little laggy.

I think with moderate driving it would be ok I run jamer 5's on my 62/12 and it gets warm but controllable. I know they are different setups but maybe an aproximate.

Do you have a stock charger now? Cause if you do, you don't have 550hp. And if you are getting "200hp" sticks you will want a charger with at least a 66mm inducer.

Turn the comp on 1X3 or less and that 66mm charger will work fine.

I agree with Tom. I think you will be much happier with a 66. HTT makes an awesome one. They are a bit smokey, but it's controllable. But a word of warning: the Sled Puller 66 sucks compared to the Pro Street 66. The SP66 barked constantly even when we drove it nice, whether we had a TAG in it or not. We had to try to bark the Pro Street. It's different on every truck with every driver though.

I run the 64/14 in my DD and I love it. If it wasn't also our tow rig, I'd want the Pro Street 66 on it.

On the 24V we ran a sledpuller 66 and it was a great charger. I worked on the turbine section for some porting. One thing that causes bark is tuning. 24V with a comp is easy to adjust the tuning on. A 12V with an aggressive AFC and plate setting can have some driveability issues. We saw the prostreet seeming to surge more on the 24V than the sledpuller. Convertor choice and other factors influence. I would say the prostreet will have less of a tendency to surge, but every combo is different. For the prostreet 66 make sure your not running a really tight convertor. My suggestion for a DD would be a 62 with a 71mm turbine wheel(SPS, or superstock 62) It will get hot at the 550HP setting, but the driveability would be worth it in my opinion. Especially a 62 with the 13SS housing. The wastegates are huge and get you ready for twins if you ever decide to go that route.

You can run any of them at 45-50psi without any issues.

C i run your old set up and i didnt have to big a hard time keeping the smoke and heat down. ITS ALL IN HOW YOUR DRIVE IT. It will peg it if you want it to and they prob are a little big for the street driving but is manageble. I THINK THEY WOULD BE TOO BIG FOR THE STREET. I noticed that i was getting more fuel in my oil and had to change my oil sooner than with my 150's (atleast by smell). Oh i think the elevation also has something to do with it also but where were at were good to go.

Right now with my 66 and 150's the smoke isnt hardly there and the temps are gone. I would go with 150's instead of 200's

I think i jsut had my lp or inj pump go out but when i get if figured out you can still drive it to see if the turbo is what your looking for. Heck ive even got a smarty if you want to try it also. With the 220's i wouldnt even run it.

I think you would be happy with 150's and a good box or two (stacked).

Oh id probably go with a 64/14 for a good street but with the inj you want it might get a little hot but if 550 is the ballpark youd still be able to get there with it.
