Crower 3.75" stroke SBC crankshaft for shorter stroke.

I have a new Crower Enduro 3.75" stroke SBC crankshaft that I would like to trade for a 3.00, 3.25, or 3.5" stroke crankshaft. It has 350 mains.

I'd be wanting to trade up to a 4 inch leg, last half dozen sbc I've built are a 4.125 bore, 4" leg, 6" rod. Wow. Torque curve and power band are so impressive. 600 to 675 lift roller cam and a head with at least 220 intake runners will make 800+

Few seem to mess with the SBC stuff any more. A shorter stroke would be preferred, but this will work fine. It will need forced induction to meet the power goals with pump gas(no E85 here) so I can use a bit less cam and heads. Getting a Dart SHP block with 4.125" bore so it will be around 400 cu in and go ahead and use the Edelbrock heads since they already have the spring and valve upgrade. Not fancy, but should be able to make 600 at the tire with excellent reliability. Glad to hear your surgery went well Ryan.

That would be a great set up for the light car. If I didn't already have the 3.75 crank I'd go with a 3.0 or 3.25. Don't need a lot of low rpm torque.

You can't go wrong with that 400 either, I built a std 400 last year for a friend, Dart SHP block, .660" solid roller, set of AFR 220s, and a flat top piston. Silly thing still made 725hp at only 7k. Only 11.8 compression, it's a street deal but man with a .250" dome and around 14 to 1 it would be impressive. Or leave it alone and add boost. Is this going in a Z?

14 to 1? You guys kill me with your race gas. This 91 octane I'm trying to use is like trying to burn coal in a nuclear reactor. Yep it's just a plain jane 240z. Trying for more of a sports car than a drag racer. Manual trans and all.

My builder is trying to talk me into the AFR heads as well(he's not an Edelbrock fan) Not sure why my friend bought them in the first place, and then spent money on upgrades. I thought about sending them out for some mild porting since it's not all that expensive, but spending 1200 to 1600 adding good rockers to a set of mediocre heads isn't going to happen. I have them for sale at a couple of places so maybe I will get lucky.

I've always ran 14 to 15 to 1 comp on all my race engines I build, 300 plus pounds static cranking pressure, as much as 350# with aggressive cam timing advance like I like. But I run alcohol Alcohol not gas. Loved my Z cars, I built and race 2 of them for years. A 70 240z and a 74 260 2+2. Great cars.

Get a set of AFR and don't look back, trust me. Once your doing your inspection on them you will see why, thier cnc jewelry. Crazy flow, thick deck, etc...best sbc out in my opinion. Guy can buy a set ready to go for whatever your camshaft for like 1625.00. I'd include thier stud girdle and a set of Comp chrome moly rockers. Awesome combination. Oh and get a set of thier 8mm lash caps

220 is thier largest standard valve spacing head but they are killer. 235 and 245 are 60/40 split and have to have shaft rockers. Don't worry with the additional cnc work, the standard race heads are jewelry right out of the box. Combustion chambers, Int. and Exh. runners are finely CNC beautiful work. Do a search for them on ebay, several dealers sale them Direct drop ship from AFR much cheaper than you may have found. Whites machine seems like one of them? ....

Yes sir it did, I'd had the car over 20 years. That wreck almost cost me my life, it was Sept 2015. Didn't know I was racing someone so drunk that he couldn't stand up. Drinking and motorsports Don't Mix well. Not only is he a GD drunk but he's a hateful piece of **** drunk. I found his info and contacted him a week later after getting out of the E.R., he told me he wished it would have killed me. Complete stranger to me. One things for certain, ....he will get his one day. Fact

Surprised he wasn't turned in at the track. Was there no collision?
