I am sure you could run 4.10's in them.

What is the diameter of the axle hub? That might be your first obstacle.

Not realy... The 10 lug d-80's hub/bearings is bigger then the 8 lug hub, so no switching there. About the easiest way is to have a custom set of wheels made that are 10 lug and has a bigger center hole (by about 1/2 inch) so the wheel will go over the hub. Yes you can use 4.10's, but make sure the 4.10's are for the year of your ford d-80...cause there are 2 different pinion bearing.

hmmmm thanks, it was going under his 79 F350 gas pulling truck cause he broke the pinion in his 10.25.......and i was going to take the 5.13 gears and run them when i get a dana 80 but im thinking about actually running a complete 37 spline disk brake rear under my pulling truck and just having a set of wheels made for the rear and getting factory ford dually 10 lug adapters for the front since i already got the full 35 spline EMS kit....

That will work! Thats a lot easier then the way i did it. I took a dodge housing and machined and redrilled the 37 spline axle shaft flange to fit the 8 lug hub.

D80 R&p Are All The Same The Only Diff. Is That 99&up Ford D80 Use A Diff. Pinion Bearing.

The Stock 37 Sline Axles Should Work In A Spool But Why Would You Put A Spool In And Not Upgrade Axles Its Much Cheaper To Weld Up The Open Carrier

Watch your rules some places say 1 ton or less for drivetrain parts.

I planned on welding the carrier, but i figured that if later on i could by the spool then on down the road the axles it wouldnt be such a kick to the wallet

i was going to ask some of the sanctioning bodies about that cause i think they should be allowed and here is my reasoning on that......

1. Scheid spool and axles are several thousand and you can get these for a few hundred......arent we all trying to save a few bucks these days......

2. your using FACTORY truck parts under the truck.....

3. i want too see someone prove to me that a factory ford 10 lug 80 is stronger than a dodge 80 with Scheid spool and axles or a AAM axle with Tony Burkhardt's spool and axles (obviously it isnt)......

HE WILL BE FINE HERE IN OHIO AS WELL AS MOST OTHER PLACES. A D80 IS AVAILABLE IN 1 TON TRUCKS. THE RULES DON'T HAVE ANY RESTRICTION ON AXLE SHAFT SIZES OR HUBS.
