HELP--What size are the threads on 11.5" pinion shaft

Not sure if this thread is in the right place or not. I buggered up the thread on the pinion shaft while removing the pinion gear to replace the front pinion bearing . it was pretty shot and I guess it kind of seized up a little more than usual. I do not want to replace the ring and pinion on it so I am hoping one of our members here might know what size the threads are so I can get a thread chaser and a new pinion nut. Is it fractional size or metric size. I know the nut socket size is a 12 point 36 MM but I have not been able to figure out what size the threads are. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.

Just in case anyone ever needs to know -----The the thread size is 30mm x 2. I was able to buy a die and a die handle and get the threads on my pinion shaft straightened up and I used a new nut for it as well.
