It seems gray area to me.
Apparently you can have a Y2K frame with an engine manufacture date of 1999.
All it takes is a pissy DOT guy to ruin your day, on that one.

Mark.

Just dont run more than 8 times in a 30 day period... problem solved. Or dont run outside of a 100 mile radius.

It wouldn't be any different than buying a 2018 vehicle in 2017 :poke:

So, what's the big deal with having ELDs, if they're exempting half of it out, anyway?
Sounds like typical half-assed "government" BS to me.

Much ado about nothing, but thanks for showing me, yet again, the quirks of the thing people call "government".

Mark.

My personal opinion about ELDs is they are a complete joke. They're pushing drivers to run longer than some should and screwing guys out of miles. Their "breaks" cannot be taken during loading/unloading times.

Don't forget shupper taking 8 hours to do a 30 minute job that turns a driver's job from 1 day into 2-3 day trip which screws the receiving customer.. which alot customer have killed stock pile down to 1-2 days worth of room for storing product coming in or going out.. forget product stoping shipments or repairs

ELD takes almost all the flexibility out of trucking.. kills truck/driver production which drives up cost..
All in the name of "safety" which the companies that are 100% ELD have the most dangerous driving record truck to truck per miles driven.. which those number have gone up

Adam, I'm sorry for messing up your For Sale thread. :(

If your truck is truly exempt, you have it fairly priced, since exempt trucks between about 1996-1999 around here seem to be fetching pretty good sums, if they are road ready, or close to it.

No worries on the left turn of the thread,

CMIIW?? Acronym I'm not familiar with...

The ergonomics of the cab doesn't sit well with me with the KW..

Figured I was reasonable with the price since I don't have much maintenance information on the Engine/clutch/transmission and there's 980k on the ODO
And some minor damage to bumper and hood.. sale actually pending right now, have to wait till bank opens tomorrow

CMIIW= Correct Me If I'm Wrong.
Left turns, in oval track racing, are permissible, it's the right turns that get really hairy. LOL

Mark.
