Hmm let me chew on these...

But questions arise.. How is the idle on these things? Do i really need 5K rpms on a street driven truck? and how is it in response to a 4K.. I dont hook to a sled at all, want to once tho, but i do like the dyno... when i can find one...

Suggestions? im open to them...

Rick

Idle is great. Unless your pulling, or need some rpm for big chargers, you probably don't need 5K. Wouldn't you rather have it and not have to use it though, than need it and not have it??

I ran mine on the street, I ran 4K's on the street to, these fly by the 4's, once you get the idle set in they are fine, my truck had no problems, on the RPM thing I have yet to spin 5,000, I have been 4,600-4,800 but I just liked having the option of the extra R's, when my charger lites the motor revs rite with the charger FAST! Obviously I liked them cause when CDS does my pump they are putting their 5K's in also so.......All gov. springs are diffrent as you know so I just opted to run CDS's since they know their spring characteristics and tuning will be kept minimal on the stand when they do my pump.

You know the feeling Brandon

They say bad news after 4100RPM but......I have heard of many going way beoynd this suggested # so.....And if I recall Brandon had things to be balanced and he was suprised how close they were IIRC.

The cranks are normally so close that they're considered balanced. 4200rpm is normally the harmonic resonance of the 5.9l cummins, so that's where the most stress will be placed on the components.
