The temperature in your hotel room should be banned

UCC was seriously the month from Hell, but in the end, it was worth all the long nights, bandaid fixes, and small victories here and there!!!!

Found my number 6 miss. Cracked valve seat to valve seat but other than that everything else looks amazing! Hopefully be up and running in the fall, wallet is always skinny around this time of the year

You think that crack was enough to cause a skip? I've had cracks that looked worse than that across the seats and it still ran fine, saw when I pulled the head for other reasons.

I cracked the lines at idle when I cracked #6 rpm barely changed. Pulled injectors #4 had a bad seal. Pulled all the valves they all looked straight. Number 6 valves both had soot stains on the seat seal and there was soot in the intake port. No holes in the pistons and nothing on the cylinder wall that left evidence of a damaged ring. I did not pull the engine out just the head off

Maybe the seat sunk in the head and you lost your valve lash.

I never checked the lash after the balance test so you could be onto something there. I can honestly say I’ve never seen that nor do I know how to check it if it was bad

I believe 12valves don't have press in seats like a CR. They heat treat the seat area. It about has to be the valve was hung open from a loss of lash, explains the soot on the valve stems and the skip.

Correct, here’s my recollection of what happened. I launched totally missed my 1-2 shift rpm smacked all the way around. Heard metallic clanging. Went to the pits found number 6 intake adjuster all the way off and a bent push rod. Removed rocker assembly, installed a new rocker assembly, and 1 new push rod. Lashed the rockers. #6 still misses. Pistons look fine, rings are in one piece, bores look ok, valves are straight, springs/keepers/ retainers ok, injector and seal ok. All I found was this crack. And the crack continues past the valve seat

If it bent a push rod and broke a rocker after it over revved the valve had to have whacked the piston. I bet the valve is bent or damaged and not sealing. I know it's not correct but I ran my head with cracks in the saets worse than that pic looked and never had a problem. Didn't like it, but didn't have time to have another head o-ringed.

Zero marks in the piston, none went over that and the valve with a fine tooth comb. I have a ton of valve clearance as well. The valve is perfectly straight checked on my precision straight edge. I can literally see through the crack into the port from the outside

My guess is from being jammed between the adjuster and the push rod hole. It was pretty crammed in there when we took it apart.

Didn’t have the budget for Muldoon’s shifter so I took the single switch shifter, hogged it out and made it except 2. The channel for the wires was too small to accept 3 so for now it’s on the side. Still way cleaner then my previous set up
