We decided against it for now due to time and planetary failure rumors at higher power levels. I ordered the PTFE coated thrust bearings from sonnax instead. I have everything to do it and still want to do it at some point.

The tcs combo kit, aermet input, intermediate, and output shafts came from TCS through Firepunk. I ordered the TCS low reverse piston, Billet oversized direct drum from TCS, suncoast light weight reaction shell, suncoast FWD Billet piston, TCS Billet clutch retainer, PDD “Billet” Belleville spring, and the Quad disc came straight from Phil. The valve body jim did himself from what he’s been taught over the years from Lavon.
You just answered my question down to the very last detail. Thank you.

I thought Firepunk quit selling the aremet shafts because of the appearance of a breakage trend ? Something about them being too "hard" ?

I think you did the right thing, I think it is a lot of points for failure(lots of little bearings rolling around) for very little up gain.

I figured they quit selling them because they wear through the factory clutch retainer. The Billet clutch retainer stops that. I’ve had my Aermet for about 5 years which was back when they still sold them. We just put the Billet clutch retainer in because it had already started wearing into the stock one on mine.

Ah, now that you mention it, I recall reading about the retainer issue also... Still something to do with the hardness of the shaft, IIRC.

Finally was able to drive it to work last night. Wish the roads weren’t wet.

Well after about 300 miles on it now I’ve had zero issues. Transmission line pressure is dead nuts 210psi right where we wanted it, and not even a drop of oil in my catch can. Noticeable difference with the quad disc and stock stall. Hopefully beat my 11.3 pass now that I’m not pushing through the triple disc I had and overdrive isn’t slipping.

Finally got a chance to get it in the sand with the paddles. Nothing stood a chance. Hoping to find some pics or video from someone up there.

True statement. Good thing I was faster cause it would of sucked to chip that carbon fiber hood up.
