Long time lurker

Ok, so this is my first post. I depend on my truck to make a living, as I drive to docks and heliports ranging from Mexico to New Orleans Louisiana. I do not allow anyone to touch my truck, except the guys at the lube shop I trade at, who are of like mind. We love our trucks, our guns, and our wives (although mine can be quite difficult love at times).

I have the general capabilities and tools to completely tear mine (my truck) down, and reassemble it. I've been doing it (all of my cars, trucks, farm and heavy equipment) for decades. Would be doing it for a living, but fixing ships is far more rewarding, financially, and generally speaking mariners are a far more honest and better class of people. Far less difficult to deal with.

I am a firm believer in the fact that I bought this truck. I am not renting the software to repair it from some FCA executive. I own the software that came in it. The U.S. courts agree.

Consequently I haunt the forums to find short cuts to the answers to my questions concerning the same. And freely share what I learn with others.

That's about it. You have something to share, I'm all ears. You need an answer and I have it, I will state so. I do have a fairly unique mix of capabilities and comprehensions, as a programmer, past applied charged particle service engineer (which means I have a deep understanding of physics), past heavy equipment, truck, and automobile mechanic, and a long history in electronics (starting with electronic warfare, on to electro-mechanical interfacing). Pretty wierd mix, huh? A man has to do what he has to do to make a living.

Welcome to the forum and nice intro.

That being said, even an educated man can be humbled in life's experiences, it takes courage to admit you don't have all of the answers.

Mark.

Well, I certainly do not have all the answers. When I do it will be sometime after they start shoveling dirt in my face.

Until DEC '17 my truck was mostly a driveway ornament. Originally purchased because I could get a relative "steal" on it, as at the time fuel was about $4.50 a gallon. It was intended to pull a travel trailer once I retired (which it appears I will never actually do), and my company supplied a vehicle.

However, I changed employer, and present one pays for the use of my truck, so it is a daily driver. If I had any idea things would turn out this way I wouldn't have put Nitto Mud Grapplers on it (the original tires dry rotted sitting in the driveway). You can barely hear the stereo at 75-80mph. She gets a lot of long distance high speed travel. I will say I have been so impressed with the mileage I get out of the Nitto's that I put a set of Nitto's on my Challenger R/T. Their street tires are just as impressive.
