Smarty vs H & S

Just ordered a new 12 and was wanting some input on which is better to run with the deletes. With this being the only mod will I need to replace the stock converter if I stay on the 60 horse tune. I will tow 15 k pretty often.

H&S hands down. You'll need to worry about the clutch packs before the converter. Especially 5th and 6th. Drive the truck resonably and allow the trans to learn and you should be ok.

H&S

I've seen people switching from smarty to H&S. I haven't had an issue with mine yet.

+1 on 5th and 6th goin out. If you get the H&S make sure you get the Overdrive tune for it, from the people I've talked to its a night and day difference.

Probably gonna run a h&s and a mp-8. Gonna tow a lot. Need to know the necessary trans mods to do this comfortably. I ran the same setup with my manual and just ran a sb dd.

No need for the MP-8, just pick up a Minimax, add the trans tuning, and you are good to go.

So what are all the differences, pros-n-cons, of set up, loading, options, etc? Who's used both? Any preferences other than I like it better?

x2. I've heard the H&S is better if you are deleting. But heard the Smarty is better if you are not deleting. Anyone used both products? Anyone used both products deleted and not deleted?
I loved the smarty on my '09. Will update it for the '12 soon. Letting someone borrow it to try on their '09 right now. I was more impressed with the Smarty than the H&S on the '09. I'll try it on the new truck soon.

I was a beta tester for the 2010+ Smarty...all they had was a Jr at the time, and after a LONG wait, I finally got Bob to let me be a beta tester. Huge mistake on my part....I should have bought the H&S when it became available instead of waiting forever on the Smarty.

Smarty...codes, codes, and more codes. NOW, I HAVE NOT TRIED THE LATEST SOFTWARE for the Smarty, and I'm not going to. Since Bob would never answer any emails of mine about the first code issues I had, I'm done with it.

H&S...lots of neat features that have come out in updates. Actually tranny tuning that I was told we will NEVER see for the Smarty (probably another marketing lie)....and some really nice tuning in general.

As for loading, Smarty is faster loading, but no more often than you reload the H&S, it's no big deal.

My vote is H&S, where there is some service. I see so many people praising Bob all the time....but yet as a Beta tester I couldn't even get a return email saying anything about my codes. I'm sure Marco makes some nice tunes as well, but if I can't even get an email back, I don't need them!

Chris

BTW, this is the first I've said of this online....Bob, if you'd like to argue or say anything, go for it. I'm not a newbie, nor do I make a habit of causing problems. I also do not make up stories or lies.

I believe people know this about me.

I've never run a Smarty but here's why I would choose the H&S for a 6.7:

Ability to read and clear codes quickly
Trans tuning
On the fly program changes
Custom tuning is simple
Integrated gauges
I've made more HP and Torque then very similar trucks running a smarty
