Is there a preferred head gasket to use with a copper oringed head ?

I changed the headgasket on my buddy's 07.5 6.7 last year and put some 425s in it.

It's been deleted for a few years, coolant crossover tube.

I had the head resurfaced last year and the machinist said he took .006" off to get it flat.

I used a cummins brand headgasket and double checked the torque a week after driving - a few needed to be tightened up.

It has an afe intake, straight pipe exhaust , stock turbo

I'm pretty sure he leaves it on the high setting of the edge juice with attitude.

He also tows a 20' enclosed trailer often and uses the exhaust brake. He is a contractor with a heavy foot.

It popped again a few days ago and I mentioned to him to get it oringed. What headgasket works best with that ? The machinist said anstoclmgasket should work. The machine shop is the only one in state who oringed cummims heads and just opened up last year.

Stock gasket and 625's is best from what I've found. 425's and/or oringed head you will most likely be doing it again.

Ok. So are 425s hardly better than the stock bolts ?

In my experience on a 6.7L with a tuner and a heavy foot, yes.

625's and a Cummins .020 thicker gasket has worked great for me so far.

I got head o-ringed, stock MLS gasket and 425's (2,000's). It has been holding around 55-60 psi for a couple of years. My advice is get rid of the stock charger.

The guy who owns it likes his exhaust brake. He sad he uses it often but we can't seem to figure out how to turn the edge down. It's locked on the power setting he says. He bought the truck with the tuner already installed. I'll try adjusting it when he brings it over.

I called the Lazarsmith and the vulcan headgaskets are in back order for a month.
